Friday 10th In Cairns
Being Friday there are plenty of options to do in Cairns, Its a perfect day for heading out to the world famous AJ Hackett Rainforest Tower to do a Minjin Swing. AJ Hackett has free transfers to and from the Tower four times a day. At 45meters high, you can actually see 22 nauticle miles off the coast of Cairns and see Green Island - an amazing view over the canopy of the Rainforest, and all this including two photos of your swing for $69 its great value for adrenaline seekers. Rafting the Barron River is also on special at the moment at $90 per person a saving of $16 each, departing from your accommodation in Cairns around 2pm and returning at 5.30pm with rafting on grade three rapids,, its an awesome adrenaline rush. For all the young at heart Bella Vista does two for one drinks at the Pier between 5 & 7pm on Fridays, a nice way to wind down at the end of the week whilst watching the reef boats return to the marina! For the weekend, Kuranda will have the markets on for visitors and tourists alike, or if you just prefer a few hours, how about having Breakfast with the Birds at Rainforest Habitat in Port Douglas. Alternatively, you could try Lunch with the Lorikeets - whatever your plans bring,, Have a great weekend :)

Winter in Cairns
Feeling Cold? Why not head to Cairns, capital of Far North Queensland! With a daily average winter temperature of 17-28 degrees Celsius (62 - 82 F) & low rainfall, it’s a perfect location for that winter holiday. The water on the Great Barrier Reef is currently 26 degrees Celsius (78F) so no need for a wetsuit! Currently there are ………..
- Plenty of Whale sightings at the moment with playful encounters with visitors reported on a daily basis.
- Rafting is on special at the moment in Cairns as is Skydiving (awesome experience).
- Reef Fishing is very good at the moment with plenty of bites around!
- Cape Tribulation is very lush at this time of the year with excellent weather in the 135 million year old rainforest!
- Mossman Gorge, one of the five purest and cleanest rivers in the world, although is a bit cold (for us) so we recommended a wetsuit for water activities. However, for those use to a cold climate it may be OK to do without.
We are located in the heart of Cairns, within walking distance from most accommodation properties. Shop 4, 20 Lake Street, pop in to see our monthly specials! PH: +617 4051 6220 & Email: celtictravel@live.com
